A Telling Confession & a Call for Accountability

O.k., some of you are probably thinking, by the title, that I am about to share something spiritually meaningful. Well, don't hold your breath. I believe what I am about to write is important, but not quite along those lines.

You see, this, my friends, is a "fat" blog. The blog itself is not fat, of course, I am ;-) Since I was married in February of 2006, I have gained a whopping 45 lbs.! Only about half of which has been since Silas was born, so I cannot use that as an excuse.
A couple of weeks ago, my friend, Rachel, posted a similar (very brave) confession on her blog, and I've decided to follow suit. What a great way to stay accountable! Two other very important women in my life (I am withholding their names to protect the guilty) have decided to start the Weight Watcher's program with me beginning tomorrow. It is a program I have used before, and I love it! It is balanced and, I think, really teaches you how to maintain a healthy, nutritious life-style.

Here are my confessions & goals:

- I currently weigh about 160 lbs.
- I would like to lose 45 lbs. by the beginning of August, for a goal weight of about 115 lbs. (the "healthy weight" for my age and height comes in between 102 lbs. & 123 lbs., so I think my goal is a happy medium).
- I figure that means I need to shoot for a loss of about 2.5 lbs. a week (which may be a little lofty a goal, but I'm going to try my best!)

You can keep track of my progress (AND hold me accountable) by checking my Weight Loss Tracker displayed at bottom right. I plan to weigh myself every Thursday evening, so I will update the tracker every Thursday night/Friday morning.

Please keep me in your prayers. This is something that I've wanted to do for a long time, but it seems like, ever since Paul and I have been married, we've been hit with one thing right after the other. Shortly after we were married, I miscarried. Then, we were blessed with Silas after trying to get pregnant for seven months, and just about a month after he was born, we were made an offer on the house ... and that ordeal has been going on for the past six months!!! All that to say that it is my unfortunate tendency to overeat when under stress. Well, it's time to get healthy :-) No more excuses!

Hey Bre,

I finally got myself sighned on.. whew...You know God wants to know what we put full faith in him and when you do he does bring out of everything above and beyond what you had before.. its hard to believe but God is so good and we have to just trust in him. I too as a woman have so many pent up feelings and when something is out of place it drives me nuts or breaks me down to big mess. It is a trying time, but maybe he wants you to enjoy california just a little more before you leave it for good. Its hard to get back when you have a family so far away. It gets harder everytime i go out to make time for the next trip and to line everything up to fly out. I will be praying for you and everything.. You are in my thoughts often..
Love you

Hey Bre, is a 10 point dinner ok? I found that I love that 90 sec microwave rice that they have in all flavors with Steamer veges on top with a No Pudge Mint Brownie for desert about 10-11 pts. I'm down 10.2 total and I can't thank you enough for your encouragement.I can now breath in my jeans again. Love, Mom
