... My dear friend Michelle, from California, and I are meeting for coffee this morning. Over the phone that is ;-) When she came out to visit a couple of weeks ago, we had our coffee together every morning that she was here. So, the other day I emailed her and said that doesn't have to stop just because we live thousands of miles away from each other. So, we set a time for this morning, 10am my time (7am for her, poor thing). It was so nice! We drank our coffee - she drank tea because she was out of creamer - and we talked about Christmas shopping, our families, home improvements we are both undergoing ... all of the same stuff we would have talked about if we were sitting across the table from each other :-) I loved every minute of it!!!
Now, I have a few more precious minutes before my teething toddler wakes up and requires my undivided attention (but I love that, too!), so I'm going to go and try to get some things done. If you'd ever like to meet me for "phone coffee", though, or AIM for that matter, remember we live in an age where miles don't have to prevent friendships from continuing, and even deepening and growing. I am so thankful for that! So, maybe I'll see YOU on the phone :-)
